Why is Trent Navigation Inn good for fans?

The Trent Navigation’s “Big Shed” is a popular matchday hub with two huge outdoor screens and additional screens throughout the venue, plus multiple outdoor bars. The venue explicitly shows Sky Sports and TNT matches and is highlighted as a go-to spot for Forest fans, while being just a short walk from the City Ground and even closer to Notts County’s Meadow Lane—making it convenient for pre- and post-match plans. On busy fixtures they open from 9am and offer breakfast, helping fans get in early before the rush. The combination of large-capacity outdoor areas, extensive live football coverage, and proximity to both stadiums makes it a strong mixed-fan meeting point on matchdays.

Good beer and very nice food at reasonable prices. Decent outside seating area with huge cinema screens left and right for watching sports. There is even a seating area under one large marquee. Additionally there are some fine pictures of artwork of Sportsmen etc scattered about. I can only imagine this place to be packed out on match days and I can see why.

I’d be so embarrassed to claim this as the best homemade pie in Nottingham. I don’t think the kitchen knows what salt or seasoning is. Highly recommend a visit to The Market Pub in Chesterfield, or The Woodlarlk Inn for something closer, if you wanted a tasty, well made pie. Fine for watching a Forest game but recommend eating elsewhere.

Sunday roast was great, would highly recommend the topside beef! Quality beef with no fat, I’d also suggest the cauliflower cheese as well. Service was easy

Amazing Sunday dinner! We stopped at the Trent Navigation Inn after a long drive back from London in bad weather and were looking forward to some nice hearty food. The Sunday dinner here did not disappoint! One of the best vegetarian nut roasts I’ve ever had and my husband said the beef and turkey were great too! The staff were great and the service was brilliant. Really friendly vibes in a comfy welcoming setting and can’t wait to come back for another Sunday dinner. Hopefully next time we’ll be able to save space for pudding as they also looked amazing! Thank you!

Went here for a pint before Forest v Brentford- great atmosphere and nice beers. Almost like an extension to city ground gets crowd pumped before the match and just a short dander to the ground.

We went out to The Trent Navigation yesterday (30/12/24) for dinner and were greeted at the door by staff whilst deciding where to sit. After we were seated, we ordered drinks at the bar whilst the menus were dropped off at the table. As someone who isn’t drinking, the options available are very good; however, I didn’t rate the choice of San Miguel 0% - will choose something else next time! We ordered food at the table, which came out pretty quickly. I found the fish to be perfectly cooked, with the chips the right amount of crispy - just how I like it! The pie was delicious with the mash & mushy peas complimented by the gravy - although found towards the end of the pie, the meat could’ve done with a little bit more sauce/gravy to stop it from drying out a little. After finishing the lot (apart from a few chips I couldn’t finish), we were truly full. Staff couldn’t do enough for us, food was brilliant, and I really recommend a visit. Looking forward to trying their pizzas next time!

I visited just before a Forest match... So it was rammed. But service was quick, as there were so many people serving. Great atmosphere. You reds!
