Why is St Judes Brewery Tavern good for fans?

Listed in away-fan guides among Ipswich pubs known for real ale, and CAMRA notes it may open earlier for home football matches. CAMRA also states there’s TV for sports events, so you can catch match build-up or results on screen. It’s in the town centre and around 0.7 miles from Ipswich station, making it a practical pre/post-match stop for supporters arriving by train. The range of rotating cask beers (often including its own-brewed) is highlighted in guides, which appeals to matchday groups looking for choice close to Portman Road.

Just popped in this qwerty little pub as we were staying around the corner....looks all gothic inside...spit and sawdust pub, but Ioved it.

Well what can I say I've never been to Ipswich before so this was a first. Was looking for local alternative places to try out. We wasn't disappointed the bar staff were super friendly, great quality and prices for drinks. Local DJ night was loads of fun from classic rock to black metal was very varied to meet everybody's preferences. Also got to meet the owner too who was really accommodating and friendly. The place is super quirky and if we're ever in the area again we'll definitely be returning.

Lovely people serving delicious beers of all nature. Breathtaking views of behinds behind the bar and frontal views also. An electrician often turns his hands to help serve beers and offer priceless advice on condition and characteristics of ales & the like. (This establishment has sole ownership of all their jokes: and All quotations or vocal broadcast of any such material shall be governed by their statutory rights of ownership unless agreement be met prior to closing time on the same day.) Quirky, quaint and quite quantifying quality all round. Your round!

Brilliant pub, great choices of beers and entertaining landlord. Anyone who likes ales must visit this pub. Nice and cosy.

I am afraid that the quality of beers on offer was no better than the stuff you put on chips. Very disappointed

Saturday 16th November 2024 This great pub in Ipswich tonight served 3 real ales locally brewed straight from the barrells. This pub is an old-fashioned gem. The pub has a music atmosphere to it, which makes this place a cosy pub to drink the lovely real ales on offer. This pub has great bar staff and owners And it's a must to visit for real ale drinkers to drink in

Went in with my partner last weekend first time visiting here and will be our last. First thought was, it smelt awful. And staff member was very rude, disrespectful and unwelcoming. Over priced & warm drinks. Don’t waste your time or money. Update as owner responded. That was my Honest opinion of the place , Also I think you are a racist as I did not want to mention how rude you, the owner was being about foreign people living in this country, you were very verbal of your opinions ,Disgusting behaviour!!! especially when the tavern is on a multi cultured street. I’d rather go to Wetherspoons so thanks for the recommendation anywhere is better than this dirty unhygienic, London styled overpriced tavern.
