very professional and Classie for my mums funeral which would never be a joyful event. couldn't fault staff, facility and ambiance. I would recommend the venue to anyone looking for a dignified wake reception. The catered for all dietary requirements

This hotel is a little gem. We held my sister in law’s wake there a few days ago. Meg’s organisation and attention to detail was exemplary, nothing was too much trouble and she was so kind and welcoming on such a sad day. The buffet food she provided and beautiful home made cakes were delicious and amazing. The barman was very friendly and helpful too. All the guests who attended were very impressed with this venue and I can definitely recommend it to anyone who wants excellent service. Thank you so much Meg, you are a star !

Turned up, light off, reception closed and number went to answerphone. Had to book somewhere else.|Never stayed at a place that closes its reception at 8pm. There was no mention of this on the booking through our booking system. Their website does say to let them know 24 hours before if you need to check in later than 8pm. Didn’t book direct so didn’t see this till trying to find how to contact them.

The wake for my mum was organised and delivered in a kind and caring manner with nothing too much trouble for Meg. The food was lovely with homemade quiches and cakes. The rooms and bar area were tastefully decorated and laid out.

If I could give zero I would. When you arrive there is nothing, no signs, no info and no one around. The pub is totally closed, so you cannot get to the supposed reception. No one answers the phone. When, after sending emails. You finally get a call they are so useless, i had to leave and get another place to stay. No refund possible, so they got their money. Avoid Avoid Avoid

Brilliant service for our Commemoration of Life. The food was delicious and plentiful. Nothing was too much trouble for Meg and her Team. They made all of our guests feel at home. I would highly recommend the Preston for your event.

I booked the hotel to hold my father’s wake as it was close to the Yeovil Crematorium. The staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. There was a member of my group who was a coeliac and a vegetarian and they personally rang her to check her food requirements and then at the reception her food came on a cake tier beautifully presented. The food was good value and there was so much. It was all of a very good standard particularly the lemon cake which had been baked by a staff member and was delicious- I had four slices it was so good. After having to say goodbye to my father, coming to this hotel and being made to feel so special and welcomed ( including personalised directions to park). I thoroughly recommend this hotel for any function or to stay.

We did not stay here however, we had a wake for my Dad at this location. Meg was amazing. Good was excellent and was a lovely venue to have the wake. Lovely seating areas as well. Meg went above and deyond to ensure everything was perfect for the event. Thank you
