Why is The Moorbrook good for fans?

CAMRA’s WhatPub notes the Moorbrook shows Sky and TNT Sports and gets very busy on Preston North End (PNE) matchdays, opening early at 11am—making it a lively pre-match hub. The pub itself runs official away-day coach trips and sells breakfasts specifically for supporters travelling on those coaches, underlining its role as a PNE home-fan gathering point. For fueling up pre- or post-game, the pub serves wood-fired pizzas (with posted kitchen hours) and it’s a straightforward 10-minute walk from Preston Bus Station, handy for fans arriving by coach. Together, TV sport, organised supporter travel, matchday buzz and hot food make it a strong matchday option.

On first entering the Moorbrook it looks like a tiny little old pub, with a great selection of ales. Then you walk outside and discover a huge outdoor seating area with ping pong table, pool table, huge pizza oven and loads of seats under cover. The pizzas are really tasty and we also tried the chilli loaded fries, tempura battered broccoli and onion rings. The onion rings were a bit heavy on the batter, and over cooked but everything else was delicious. I don’t think Slimming World would approve of their menu 😆 they have a great selection of Vegan options too

If you're looking for a pub with a lovely welcoming friendly staff, a great selection of beers and ales, tasty food with a menu that also caters for vegetarian and vegan diets, a great atmosphere, and many original features from its Victorian origin then you've come to the right place. Whether you want to sit at the bar, play darts, listen to live music or sit in one of the separate rooms for a meal, a quiet pint by yourself, enjoy the beer garden, play tennis table and enjoy a great pizza baked in outdoor oven and more, then this is definitely a pub for you. P.S. visited again with family and shared the oven baked vegan pizzas which were absolutely delicious! And I was told that the special pizza of the day and loaded chips (both with meat) were also delicious.

Fantastic selection of ales and craft beers. Great service too. Not serving food on a Tuesday is a shame as their pizzas and bbq range has a reputation for being very good

Went for a business meeting. Amazing pizzas - 10 outta 10. Onion rings were the best we've ever had. The chap behind the bar was very welcoming and friendly. Think his name was Daniel. Beer selection was fantastic too. Overall it was a top tier experience. Will be definitely be recommending to others

Argyle on tour! Up at 4am to catch a 6hr train journey to play Preston. This was the pub of choice for "we" regular pals from all over the country to meet. And a good choice too. Cracking atmosphere, home and away fans having good banter and having a pint....or two! Lots of good choices for real ale, cider and lager. I was drinking "memento" brewed in Reading apparently. Excellent service considering how busy it was. Unfortunately we lost 2 - 1 undeservedly......brilliant match and atmosphere!!

The Moorbrook One word: Pizza! Short review : Stunning pizzas. Beer garden. Great selection of beers. William Morris wallpaper. Again... Wow pizzas! Detailed review: We happened to be near Moor Park and the Preston CAMRA guidebook led us to this hidden gem. I am surprised not many people talk about this place as it's wood fired pizzas are so astoundingly good. What greets you when you enter is a standard English pub with wooden decor. There are two rooms with strawberry thief wallpaper, simple furniture, multiple books & games, a few screens playing Sky sports and an impressive selection of beer on tap. We were told that the beer garden is good but we were comfortable indoors. We had a tough time deciding on the beer, cause there is quite a bit to choose from. I guess it's OK to make mistakes and discover new flavours. The halloumi fries were simply fried halloumis which were understandably salty but were well balanced with the exceedingly sweet chilli dip. An extreme flavour battle. We had the "Buffalo got beef" pizza. Stunning! The amalgamation of mozzarella, buffalo chicken, pastrami, chilli and blue cheese was extremely satisfying. Refreshing and tantalising us for more. The pizzas tasted best hot. Gluttony is a sin and we indulged in it by devouring a portion of loaded fries, which stuffed us and gave us a salt-moreish overload. The beef chilli loaded chips with guacamole, sour cream & salsa could be a meal in itself. Interesting flavours, but the pizza was the hands-down winner. Possibly one of the best pizza in the city. Highly recommended! Great pizza & beer..perfect ingredients for a good life /evening.
