Superb food with plenty of vegan & vegetarian options. I can't recommend the roasts enough. The staff are all wonderful, so welcoming a d friendly, the drunk selection is amazing and they have really good wine. Plus there's always a chance you'll meet a dog. What's not to love? This pub is a firm favourite of ours.

Lord Nelson hosted us for my baby shower and it was amazing, the garden space is so lovely to book out for groups has a relaxed but really pretty feel. And it's free to reserve the space! The staff went above and beyond, set up speaker and drinks and food for us, communicated well by email answering all of my queries and were very helpful don't the day too. The only thing was we had to order more food as the buffet option we ordered wasn't enough for everyone, but it does say it's light snacks and not a proper meal on the menu so fair enough, all in all I'd say it was good value spent on the food and drinks. Thank you to everyone for making the day special!!

Came here for a work Christmas meal, and we couldn't have been happier. The food was amazing and they catered superbly to vegan and gluten-free diets. The food was also great value for money, and the extra touches such as sorbet and a welcome drink were really appreciated. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, and we felt well looked after the entire time. Thank you, team! We will definitely be back again.

Great service and cracking tunes! Friendly interior and lovely outdoor area. Super range of Vegan options including an array of tasty puddings which was really refreshing because in most places I find there are no plant-based desserts or just something plain like sorbet. Thank you.

Great local pub, with delicious and varied food. We booked for a Friday family dinner and the service was just right. It was well catered for children, and for vegans, which is unusual for a local pub. Will come here again no doubt!

Of the two pubs in the area we visited this place was closer, right down the street from where we were staying. The staff there was really nice and friendlier(had quite a few laughs) and the food was really good too. Plus side is they had a meatless menu which my wife was happy about. I can’t remember what my wife had but it was an interesting twist on the steamed bun.

We celebrated our Silver Wedding at the Nelson in their lovely covered garden.. during the planning the staff were helpful and quick to respond to our queries, and then on the night, everything ran like clockwork despite it being a hot and busy summer evening. Big love to all the staff, especially Della and Mags who kept everything under control meaning we could relax and really enjoy the evening with friends and made it a very special time. thank you all.
