Surprised when I call in for a lunchtime drink I've not been in since the much needed refurbishment. Personally I didn't like the Silkstone and have not call in for a long time. Bar staff very friendly and polite. The doco is nice with some thought to the layout. Number of large TV screens ideal for sports fan's also there are 3 dart borders. The toilets are down stairs but there is a disabled toilet group level. Nice background music. Didn't seen food menu so assumed drinks only, that works for me. Will call again drinks prices very good

This was a fantastic venue for drinking and entertainment, with the aesthetic representing the history of Barnsley as a town! The mining display in particular stands out, counter is well-presented and I had a refreshing pint of Strongbow Dark Fruits. Seating is comfortable and the darts was fun, available on deposit!

OK, decent prices and nice wide open area since converted, only just opened up a few weeks ago so still building client base. toilets the same as they were when it was a spoons. Seems like it wants to host the next world final at darts as a massive part of the pub is taken up by a few dart boards (which weren't being used). plenty of TVs around with various sports on so if you want a pint of John Smiths and watch the sports then its ok for you.

Lovely, friendly staff and always very clean and tidy. Would recommend to anyone who wants a game of darts or just a pint.

Not a good pub, flat beer, overpriced and staff don't care. Tim Talyor Landlord - flat within a minute. Asked Staff for a replacement of what was left (like for like), was told to pay for it after I handed over the original and refused to drink it. Believe it was the manager tall chap with ginger hair. Really poor service and embarrassing. Not a patch on it was a Wetherspoons, friends agree, we will not go in again.

Primarily an adults only sports bar with multiple large screen TV's. There are also several dart board set up's with electronic scoring & also a pool table. Prices are fair & there are multiple drinks offers that change regularly. Occasionally there is also live music, details are on posters within the bar.
