The Independence Sports Bar

Why is The Independence Sports Bar good for fans?

Located inside Ashton Gate’s South Stand, the Independence Sports Bar is as close as it gets for Bristol City/Bristol Bears matchdays. It’s open pre- and post-match, serves food (including the stadium’s ‘Loaded’ offer), and is built for watching games together with one of the largest indoor pub screens in the country and regular live-sport screenings (e.g., England tournament watch-alongs). Doors typically open hours before kick-off and run late, so it works as a meet-up spot before the game and for post-match debriefs. The big-capacity, purpose-built setting creates a lively home-fan atmosphere right at the ground, making it a convenient and football-focused choice on matchdays.

The pizza was very small and not worth £12.50 but tasted nice. £5 for a pint of Amstel.

Always meet up with our group here after the match. Would be a 5 star review but recently only one person serving straight after final whistle this causes quite a queue. Must be rather stressful for the young person behind the bar. Limited choice of drinks available. TV's on the wall to watch late kick off.

City fan all my life. Love coming here every Friday (a few months ago I saw Kalifa Cisse, ex City player), there. Paninis are healthy and great. Latte is lush. The staff are very friendly and have a chat with me.

Really good coffee bar with great coffee and one of the best bacon sandwich I have had in a long while, even had your own little pots of ketchup and hp sauce. Big yum. Worth a visit even if you don't support Bristol City football.

Went there after last Saturday's home game against Swansea. I sat on a boiling hot radiator. Unfortunately I have got no feeling in my bum. Since then, my bum have got a lot of burns. I am getting it treated. There's no protection on the radiators in the Sport Bar cafe. Be careful guys and girls.

It was empty when I went in, so no atmosphere. They were waiting for the post match rush though.
