The Cleveland Arms

Why is The Cleveland Arms good for fans?

A solid matchday option if you want to watch the game with a pint and a plate. The pub explicitly promotes live football and is listed on a local round-up for venues showing plenty of Premier League games (table booking advised on busy fixtures). CAMRA also flags that the pub has Sports TV. You can make a full afternoon of it thanks to daily food service and a Sunday roast that’s locally well regarded. Regular local ales (e.g., Harvey’s and Dark Star) are noted by CAMRA, so you can pair a Sussex cask with the match on TV.

Great meal here. Staff are super friendly. Love the conservatory bit of the pub. Stand out was the Chocolate Basque Cheesecake (although that was just a special)

What a cracking boozer, tucked away (slightly) - we had a round table with a view across the whole pub (and was perfectly placed for the TV screens, showing the rugby). Their Guinness was good - as was their Harvey's (Best and Old on tap) - we had some chips, which were good - other people's food looked decent, so we will be back for food another time. All the staff were great - good fun, attentive, helpful. Loved it!

We had the most yummy roast this afternoon at The Cleveland Arms! First time visit and we'll be back. The service was lovely and a special shout out to the chef because it was the nicest pork belly porchetta we've ever eaten. All the sides were great and the gravy was next level. I wish we had room for pudding because they sounded yummy too. We'll be back to try the midweek menu :)

Came for New Year’s Eve lunch. We arrived a little earlier than we had booked, but staff were super friendly and helpful in getting us settled in whilst waiting for our table. The man (i assume is the owner) who served us, was very welcoming and ensured we were looked after. Food was great, everyone enjoyed their meals. The only reason I am rating this 4* is because the sticky toffee pudding was a little dry and was sadly not sticky! Great advice and knowledge on the beers available on tap.

One the best local pubs in Brighton opposite Blakers Park...the new chef Sean is knocking it out of the Park. Special salad was great. And they have Harveys Beer

came for a roast and got the beef. Huge portions so was very happy there. More gravy would’ve been amazing but I didn’t ask for more, veggies were great red cabbage is always a welcome addition!

Always good. Friendly staff, prime position on the corner by the park and really really tasty food. Great place to hang out and in the summer the outdoor seating is perfect. The venison stew is some of the best comfort food you'll ever have! It's divine!

Fantastic local pub with friendly, helpful staff. The food is delicious - they won an award for the best roast in the UK! They are currently delivering drinks during the lockdown which is fantastic as they sell plenty local ales, wines and spirits.
