Why is One Over the Ait, Kew Bridge good for fans?
One Over the Ait is a riverside pub a short walk from Gtech Community Stadium, positioned by Kew Bridge and explicitly promoted as a pre-game meeting spot for matchdays. The venue shows live football on multiple screens, including Sky Sports and TNT Sports, and even highlights football-specific listings—useful for catching early kick-offs or post-match games. The pub's features include big-screen sports viewing and a dedicated upstairs Players' Lounge with plenty of screens, making it a practical matchday hub. It's also listed by Brentford FC on their official 'Away Fans' information page among the closest pubs to the stadium, indicating it's a common stop for visiting and home supporters alike. Fans can also grab food from the pub's menu before heading to the ground.

Brilliant pints, brilliant views. Plenty of space in this Fullers Pub for larger gatherings and, perfectly located between Brentford and Richmond so lots of access to places to eat before or after, but that's not even needed because I would recommend eating here!

Visited around noon on a sunny Saturday, and I have to say, this place really impressed me.
Pros:
- There’s plenty of space, both indoors and out, and it wasn’t crowded at all despite the good weather.
- The terrace wraps around the pub, front, back, and side, each area offering a different vibe and view.
- Inside, it’s big and open. You don’t feel cramped at all.
- I’m not even a big football fan, but there was a match on when I was there. The many screens scattered around make it a great place to catch a game if that’s your thing.
- The rooftop terrace is a real highlight, views of the Thames on one side, the bridge on another, and some modern buildings behind. Again, each angle gives you a unique atmosphere.
- Beer selection is decent, most of the well-known choices are there.
Cons:
- Honestly, nothing major comes to mind. I didn’t try the food this time, so can’t comment on that yet.
Summary:
I’ve been to a lot of pubs around London, and this one definitely makes it into my top 10. Even though I don’t live nearby, it’s absolutely worth the trip back.

Been here before and food was good. Really disappointed today. £11 for smashed avocado on toast and £3 for a side of egg and it was grim. Thin layer of overly processed guac on floppy white sliced bread - the guac hadn’t seen a real avocado in some time. Toast was horrible. Not what you expect for brunch.

Beautiful location and easy to get to whether by walking or bus (65 to Kew Bridge). Modern-feel with some mix-'n-match of various elements, all nice on their own but kinda missing like a central, cohesive feel to it. Seating outside is marvelous, with a pool table on the second floor as well. Service was a little impersonal and haphazard but it might just be that they were kinda busy (? although not really). Poor servers had to keep going up and down from first to second floor, though. Tough.
Food-wise, lots of great options. Had my first ever Fish and Chips in the UK. Chips were probably up there in the top chips (or fries) I've ever had. Fish batter was good and crisp, but the fish itself I feel could have done with some marinating with herbs and spices but apparently, as I was told, marinating the fish and schzuzing it up a little bit is a bit uncommon in Briton restos and pubs. So I guess if judged by it is what it is, pretty good fish. The sauces were stellar. Great selection of drinks overall.
Price not bad for the portions they serve.

Had a great evening watching the football this Tuesday, I never knew I had such a great sports bar near me in Brentford. The food was well cooked even though the menu is not that extensive its like they have a focus on goodngrub to watch the match. Chris was superb all night long and recommended we come back for the pool table which we will be doing. They even accepted our Chiswick club discount. Winner!

Worst meal I’ve had in London. “Smashed avo on toast” was soggy Hovis bread and store-bought guacamole. Egg was cold. And got charged £13 for it! Could have made a better brunch at home. Pint was expensive and luke warm. Place has no character and smells like stale alcohol.

A fantastic pub at a beautiful riverside in Kew Bridge. A lovely Fuller's establishment serving delicious food, classic Fuller's traditional ales, and also showing live sports. Jerry and the team have been fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will most definitely visit again.

One Over the Ait by Kew Bridge offers a mixed experience. While the ambiance is charming and the beer selection is commendable, the food leaves something to be desired. The limited menu lacks variety, and the taste is mediocre at best. However, if you’re looking for a nice spot with a good atmosphere to enjoy a drink, this place fits the bill. Perfect for a casual outing with drinks, but don’t expect much from the food.
