Great service from all the team. Been here a few times recently. Beer is well kept. Food served lovely and hot and tasty. Nice location well maintained. Good breakfast offering too.

I came yesterday with family. The food was gorgeous in itself hot and we was more than happy. The staff themselves were friendly, warm and welcoming. I hate to moan someone came in with a dog and she picked it up and sat it on a stool at the side of the bar. Other than that cracking couple of hours. Thank you 😁

Decent pre packed food, no fresh cooking at a Marstons pub, beef lasagna in a red wine sauce. Nice venue. Football was on every screen, which I was not a fan of. I would go again if there is another food offer though I won't go out of my way. Ensure you register your parking

Family meal on a Friday evening, and we had the last available table. Typical Ember Inns food etc, and good value and tasty. There was a buzz about the place. Had the french dipping burger. No idea the french did that. And no need to emulate them again, but the burger was really juicy without the dipping sauce thing. See photos. Update 27/4/24. The french dipping burger no longer on the menu, but the replacement Ultimate Burger is really good, as is the standard Cheese and bacon burger, pictured

Visited Olton Tavern on Lode Lane this afternoon for a pint and some food, and it was a very disappointing experience. We ordered fish & chips and chicken tikka masala, and the food took around 40 minutes to arrive. We sat outside, but the tables hadn’t been cleaned after the previous customers. When I asked for cutlery, the lady who brought the food told me to go inside the bar and get it myself. The haddock & chips was completely tasteless, and the chicken tikka masala was just sauce with two tiny pieces of chicken. We spent over £70 and left feeling like it was a total waste of money. No service, no value for money, and the food was poor quality. Definitely not somewhere I’ll be returning to.

I've never been to a more depressing pub. I ordered Panko-Breaded Butterflied Prawns for the starter and there was nothing cjili or seasoned about the relish. Whoevwr supplies the breaded prawns for this pub need to review their stock. It was like eating straight breadcrumbs. As an additional side I odered 'slaw. It was tasteless unless you're infatuated with spoons full pf mayonnaise. No seasoning, just carrot and greens with mayo. It was quite honestly disgusting. For my main I ordered Cheese & Bacon Beef Burger. The burger is described to have sauce, cheese, the beef pattie lettuce and onions. The sauce, lettuce and onion were almost non-exitent. A single leaf of lettuce and 3 quater of a ring onion pieces. I've never had a more lacking burger and I'm pretty sure Plankton and his chum would be better. I used the ladies bathroom while my family and I were there. The smell and apperance of damp was horrible, the stalls and walls are smudge with make-up including a handprint on the inside door on the last stall. There is dust, dirt and cobwebs all over the bathroom. The staff seemed lethargic and uninterested after we paid for our drinks. Nobpdy asked us how the meal was, or how the stay was at any point from the moment we stepped foot in the pub to the moment we left. I would've ordered dessert but after all of that, all we wanted to do was leave. It's safe to say we will not be returning and it isn't worth the visit.

This place just doesn't have great standards. The food wasn't served with the dip that was advertised on the menu. The tables full of empty glasses and the ash trays full of soaked cigarettes that hadn't been cleaned out from the night before. I'd understand if standards dropped when really busy, but it wasn't. I don't think I'll eat in an Ember Inns again, but will likely still pop in for a pint.
