Great pub on the Thames river with fantastic views and a friendly service.
Good Sunday lunch served with a choice of beef , pork or chicken.
It's a Samuel Smith pub so only serves there own beer and beverage. Lovely outside seating area with bar.

Stopped by The Captain Kidd on a Saturday and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Had one of the Samuel Smith brews — a solid, classic choice that hit the spot. The pub has a lovely antique vibe, full of character, and the riverside setting gives it extra charm. Great place to unwind with a pint. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Wapping area.

Start with the negatives, the food is pretty abysmal considering the price, 18/19 pounds for the chicken schnitzel and fish and chips.
The fish was slimy and a slightly weird taste to it, the chips were frozen so it had that strange undercooked texture, not fluffy inside or crunchy outside.
The schnitzel was okay albeit underwhelming and over salty, the fries were okay and the cheese over the salad was unnecessary.
The toilets was small for the size of the pub, cramped, and a bit dirty.
The pub itself is wonderful, the selection of drinks was decent and the fruity beer were decent. The service was really good despite them forgetting the desert and the staff were very nice.
The apple crumble was ok but the crumble still tasted over flowering rather than crunchy and the apple was lacking. The custard had the consistency of hot tarmac, it was so thick I was wondering if it was going to leave the saucer.
Huge area, lots of table, great view and outdoor area, just avoid the GCSE standard food and you'll have a lovely time.

Was heading to the famous Prospect of Whitby and found this fantastic pub on the banks of the Thames. Arrived midday on Sunday 8 June, quiet, only 1/4 full. Ordered 2 x roast dinner. What amazing food, huge plates of meat and various vegetables, onion, swede, parsnips, broccoli, carrots and roast potatoes with Yorkshire pudding.
Cooked perfectly.
Could only be improved by being a little hotter and on a warmed plate.
Pub has a nice outdoor space on the river but also plenty of tables inside.

Beautiful pub on the river. Great bar and outside area. Staff really friendly. Here comes the negative bit. Ordered nachos large - some dodgy doritoes with cold cream, salsa and a cheese slice thrown around the kitchen and served. It was so bad you couldn't help laughing. If this is the chefs way to get you to order more food it won't.... Very disappointing
All in all a good pub but come on guys nachos, 12 quid which was put together by a 2 year old

Great view from the outside seating area and a nice variety of beer which I have never seen before. The decor is unique (fits the area) and the pub is situated in a nice area of Wapping. Great place for a place to meet up and have a drink 😁
Food was … ok, nothing great…

In my opinion this is the worst of pub grub. I had the thinnest pie with little but gravy inside. The mash was drier than an arid desert.
The woman staff member was as unenthusiastic as you could image.
The schnitzel was cooked in old oil and made us feel quite ill after.
Seriously, I'll NEVER go back.
If it hadn't have been for the diplomatic approach by my girlfriend. I'd have requested an immediate refund!!
A catering size NO from me !
A ruined bit of history !

Great sun terrace with plenty of seating overlooking the Thames in Wapping, just a short walk from the Windrush Overground Station.
