City-centre base a short walk from Hull Paragon Interchange and within reach of the MKM Stadium, so it’s convenient for meeting pre- or post-match. The pub shows live sport via TNT Sports/Sports TV, meaning televised football is on when broadcast. It also serves home-cooked meals with published food times, useful for lining up before kickoff or grabbing something afterwards.

Hidden Gem! We found it passing trough Hull and loved it. Lovely clean renovated room. Super comfortable bed. Very friendly staff, we have had a light dinner and couple of drinks in the pub as well. It was full of happy locals :) Great prices and the vibe in general was top class. Free parking when staying overnight. I highly recommend 👍

My stay at the Whittington & Cat truly touched my heart. The hotel didn’t feel like a place far from home it felt like home itself. Peaceful, cozy, and located in one of the most beautiful parts of the city… The marina is magical, calm in the mornings and soothing in the evenings. My room was spotless and smelled so fresh my tiredness disappeared the moment I stepped in. The staff were incredibly kind and warm, as if we’d known each other for years. The attention to small details and the overall sincerity made this place unforgettable for me. If I ever come back to Hull, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Stayed at the Whittington and Cat recently for a visit to ‘ull (Hull!) with work.
Gill and the team are fab. Took one look at my dishevelled state; got my food order in, explain about my room and then set me up in snug so I could have some peace and gather my thoughts after a real long day of travelling. Food was lovely, drinks very feasible and the room was a lovely size, clean and thoughtful touches, such a bottles of water.
The welcome was just perfect after such a long day. Take note of their opening times; if you can’t keep to those, this isn’t the right place for you to stay :-)

Food is lovely. Great portions! And decent price. Staff very friendly and was nice and quiet when we visited so could have a good conversation. Would visit again. The fish and chips is popular however the fish patties are just as nice

Lovely pub and hotel. The room we had was spacious and clean. Nice bathroom, the shower did it's job. Considering the location, the rooms were very quiet at night. The food was excellent, very well prepared and good value. The only fault, very minor, was the pub closing time. However, considering all the construction work in place (at the time of writing), there is little to no passing footfall so the early closing is understandable. Would definitely stay here again if we're back in Hull.

I booked 2 rooms for ourselves and friends to see the War of the Worlds at Hull. The location was fantastic - just across the road and a 10 minute walk to Hulls old town. |The facilities were outstanding. I have very rarely come across a property where you could genuinely say it was possible to eat off the floor but this property did it. After check in we met up with our friends and the first thing we said to each other was 'you could eat off any surface'. The whole place was pristine. The second thing we said was the beds were so comfy. |Next -the staff. They were top notch, friendly, professional and willing to go the extra mile for the guests. When we arrived back after the show we had a couple of drinks in the bar and were made very welcome despite the late hour.|We booked a table for lunch the following day and were allowed to stay in our rooms till the pub opened for lunch ( this was really convenient for us as my partner is disabled and was feeling shattered after the concert).|The food was loverly, freshly cooked, tasty and very good value - we got the last table for 12.00 noon and all time slots were booked up after that. ||The Whittington and Cat will now be our goto accommodation when staying in Hull. ||Highly recommended.

Very friendly and welcoming hotel with great individualistic decor, well furnished and appointed rooms, and nice local walks around the marina and into central Hull. Really pleasant stay in an individual hotel that was such a difference from the soulless big branded hotels. Comfortable bed, great shower, plenty of room. Refreshments including bottled water were a nice touch. Hotel is about a 15 minute pleasant walk to the Connexin Live Centre and onwards to central Hull. Free car parking in the retail park next to the hotel when you register for the room, and parking extends to midnight on the day you check out. Excellent and reasonably priced meals in the pub area on the ground floor. Local Gregg’s about a minute away for an inexpensive and tasty breakfast. Electronic key access to the hotel out of hours. The staff were really friendly and helpful on my first business visit to Hull. The only downside was the extended roadworks complicating access to the retail park. Strongly advised to follow the advice of the Whittington and Cat team, and also follow signs for the Holiday Inn.

What a lovely find. Needed somewhere convenient for a recent overnight trip and The Whittington and Cat didn't disappoint. The accommodation was brilliant and for a 'single' room was a very good size. Clean and comfortable with good pub food and wonderful friendly hosts, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Definitely my place to stay when I come back to Hull.
