Why is The Vine good for fans?
Regularly recommended as the designated away pub for visitors to The Hawthorns and listed among the best pubs for away supporters. It’s around a 15–20 minute walk from the stadium and you can even hop off the Kenrick Park Metro stop for it. Matchdays often see their indoor tandoori barbecue running, and the venue’s large capacity (250+ seats) helps groups get served quickly. They also have sports TV and sources indicate live football is shown, making it a practical pre-/post-match base with hot food and pints before heading to the ground.

A lovely find on an unplanned trip out. The pub is much bigger than it appears from the outside. Some lovely dining space doors too. Food was great. Delicious and very reasonably priced. Quick and friendly service. Thank you!

Decor was light and airy giving an extra mood boost, could not see an entrance for disability as there were steps outside the pub, bar staff very friendly and accommodating. Food, we had the paneer makani delicious! Not spicy nor sweet, boneless mix grill absolutely amazing! Meat was tender with the right amount of spice accompanied by fresh cut salad. Garlic naan and keema naan was to die for soft in the middle and chewy great flavours, will definitely be back again!

I’m absolutely disgusted by the treatment we received at The Vine during what was supposed to be a special birthday meal. We came as a group, intending to purchase five adult meals, and were completely shocked and appalled by the way we were treated—especially regarding my 6-year-old autistic son.
Due to his autism, my son has a very limited and specific diet. There is nothing on the menu he can eat, so as we’ve done on many previous visits to this restaurant over the years, we brought food for him. This has never been a problem before, and we've always appreciated that understanding. But this time, the owner of the vine who was sat watching, sent a staff member named Ruth to tell us he could not eat his own food inside the restaurant, despite the fact that we were paying customers.
When we tried to explain the situation and my son’s needs, Ruth shockingly responded by saying *she has an autistic child herself and would never think it’s okay to bring food somewhere for them.* That comment was not only insensitive—it was outrageous. Should disabled children just starve when there’s nothing suitable for them on a menu? Her attitude was dismissive, judgmental, and completely lacking in empathy or understanding. It’s beyond belief that someone who claims to have personal experience with autism could behave in such an exclusionary way.
We had no choice but to leave. We were not about to sit down and enjoy a meal while my son sat there hungry. This wasn’t a choice—it’s part of his disability. What happened was discriminatory, distressing, and completely unacceptable.
We are deeply angered and disappointed by the lack of inclusion for disabled people at this restaurant and will absolutely be taking this matter further. The Vine has lost our custom for good, and I urge others—especially families with disabled children—to think carefully before visiting. This kind of exclusion should not be tolerated in 2025.

We come here often after going to an Albion game for drinks and always have a good time. Tonight we met friends for food and drinks.
We were a group of 7. 4 adults, 3 children.
Got a table for 7 in the back room. Good atmosphere and enough space for all of our food and drinks!
Nice pint of cobra.
We ordered:
Poppadoms
2 x chicken tikka wraps
Mixed wrap
Masala Tikka
Garlic Tikka
Chips
Chilli chips
Masala chips
Mushroom rice
Fried rice
Lamb Claypot
Chicken Nuggets
Naan
Curry sauce
All food was good. I just wish they had a children menu as the portion size for my 6 year old is just too big and a lot of it was wasted.
We had a lovely evening and would eat here again. Busy throughout the evening and a popular bar and grill in the west bromwich area.

Stopped by The Vine at 14:00 today with my son, and we had a fantastic mixed grill experience. Tender flavorful meats cooked to perfection. Friendly service, highly recommended.
